the Penguin, stages a play to seize control of Gotham’s criminal underworld
Story
After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. From melting makeup to shooting in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about them. The character was cast during the production of "The Penguin." Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin to smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022) but failed. However, for his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars.
Farrell steals the show
An umbrella falls down and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton and guests: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). He’s charming.
There’s nothing cartoonish about it
There’s nothing about the character that hints at Farrell. The NY dialect, the swing and the sloppiness, the attitude: You’d swear it was a different person. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character. The show is gritty and graphic.
Well-written and tight
This would make a great companion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say this blows Marvel’s line out of the water. I’m hoping they can get a season 2, but I know this is limited. It’s a shame.
