Remake of El Agente Topo (2020)
Story
Charles, a retiree, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private detective ad and becomes a spy in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Michael Schur was inspired to create ‘A Man On the Inside’ after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The Mole Agent” is powerful because it makes people of any age, ethnicity, or gender feel something remarkably similar, and I would describe that feeling very reductively as, “I have to call my mom.” In our show, we try to do something similar with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of wanting to call our moms?
How can you not appreciate Ted Danson
A legend, guys, like Tom Sellecks’ mustache. Anyway, I thought this show was a jack of all trades.
Especially in the later stages when things really matter for the right reasons
Some really funny lines, two very attractive female characters who never mess up, and also a great message about the bonds that form in life. I also found that this show resonated with me because it addresses dementia.
Losing my father recently to this terrible disease only made me feel more connected
However, as each episode progressed, I became more invested and found each character charming and lovable in their own unique way. I definitely recommend this series and I’m also looking forward to another season.
