in AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast: Silly Old Deadly Bear (2022)
Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that sends them lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in the “Skeleton Crew”; plus more stars from a galaxy far, far away… The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s little siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family watched in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).
When I saw the first episode, I was so happy that it lasted about 40 minutes
I think the show is great so far, but there’s one issue that really annoys me: the running time. Then came episode two: if you include the flashback and credits, it’s not even 25 minutes. If I get 25 minutes of the show every week, I have to watch what happened the week before.
As for the actors: Oh my god, they’re kids
Once you can’t really get lost in the universe, you’ve warmed up, it’s over. Incredibly unsatisfying! I probably won’t watch it for months and I’m trying to avoid all spoilers so I can watch it all next year.
It’s clear they haven’t had years of acting training
Still, the leads are likable, the music is fitting, and the action isn’t too kid-friendly. After two episodes, I’m excited to see what happens next, but unfortunately, I won’t find out until next year. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
