Musician Nick Cave was invited to draft a version by Russell Crowe and Sir Ridley Scott
Story
Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum and must look to his past to find strength to return the glory of Rome to its people.. In the years following the release of the first film, there were numerous attempts to write a sequel. His version focused on the more mythical elements of Ancient Rome, and would have seen Maximus arrive in the afterlife, only to be faced with other souls who are yet to ascend further. He is eventually tasked by Jupiter and other Roman deities to return to earth to find and kill Hephaestus, a former deity who has betrayed them. From there, he is resurrected as a Christian and finds himself journeying back to Rome, on a mission to stop Christianity from spreading, while crossing paths with the new Emperor, Lucius. The movie would have ended with Maximus being cursed to live for an eternity, featuring a montage of the soldier battling through the Crusades, World War II, and the Vietnam War, eventually revealing a modern-day Maximus working at the Pentagon in Washington.
Emperor Geta: The gods have SPOKEN!
The studio decided not to go through with this version, but the script is available to read online.. Featured in The 7PM Project: Episode dated 3 July 2024 (2024). I watched the premiere in Sydney. The plot is richer and more emotional than the first one. Everyone's acting is great, Paul did a wonderful job! Denzel has a great talent for comedy and contributed a lot of funny plots.
Some dialogue editing switches too frequently
I personally feel that it is not bloody at all. There are a lot of fight scenes and it’s pretty cool. The ending is very emotional and there are many touching parts. To sum up the shortcomings: 1. I personally don't like this editing method. I prefer to use a slightly longer shot to focus on one person (preferably the main character) so that I can capture the slight changes in the person's facial during the dialogue.2. The sea water in front is a bit too real to makes it look fake.
(I'm not sure)p
The sea water is too blue and perfect, which often presents the opposite effect.3. Regarding historical rationality, I don't think people at that time had a certain understanding of the concept and appearance of the god of death. S. This is a script adapted from history. There is no need to care about the originality of the script. Therefore, it's unnecessary to care about whether the second one is a remake of the first one.
This statement itself is contradictory
People say that they want to see a sequel but don't want the script to be too related to the previous one. If we must see a completely different story, then we should list it as the original script. But the second one clearly states that it is an adaptation. You can judge the adaptation of the script, but if you are not satisfied with its originality, maybe you should rewrite the history book.My ratings in various dimensions: Writing: 9.5/10 Direction: 10/10 Cinematography: 10/10 Acting: 10/10 Editing: 7.5/10 Sound:10/10 Score/Soundtrack: 10/10 Production Design: 9.5/10 Casting: 10/10 Effects: 8/10 Hair and Make Up: 9.5/10 Costume Design: 9.5/10 .
