Katie, a freelance video editor desperately looking for work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a bizarre and enigmatic video. Short on cash and threatened with eviction, Katie gladly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – surely just an elaborately staged fiction. But when her first job leads to even more lucrative contracts and even more disturbing snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures appear in her apartment, terrifying nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness plagues her cat. It is only when Katie decides to quit her job for good that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer really is and the bloody measures she herself is prepared to take to get out of her contract.
