Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. Katie is evicted for the money and eagerly accepts the gig. The video depicts people being tortured and even killed on camera – surely just a cleverly staged fabrication. But when her first job leads to even more lucrative work and disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures haunt her apartment, terrifying nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness afflicts her cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she learns just how cruel her anonymous employer really is and the diabolical efforts she herself will go to to get out of her contract.
