The Penguin, makes a move to take over the criminal underworld in Gotham
Story
After the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, a.k.a. Except for the Bat-signal in the final shot of the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in “The Penguin.” In this short video, IMDb tries to answer: where the hell was Batman?. Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of The Penguin smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but was unsuccessful. In his own series, however, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, with a preference for cigars.
Farrell STEALS this series
The DC Studios logo is set in a rainy Gotham alley. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Featured in Graham Norton The Gost: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).
The show is raw and graphic
It’s awesome. There’s nothing about the character that hints at Farrell. The New York dialect, the sway and limp, the attitude – you’d swear he was someone else. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character.
Well written and tense
There’s nothing cartoony about it. This is a great counterpart to Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say this blows the Marvel line. I hope there can be a season 2, but I know it’s limited.
It’s a shame
HBO has a legitimate hit on their hands.
