Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Badingham follow as their long-running rivalry comes to an end. Coincidentally, Aidan Turner has previously filmed at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals). The same filming location was also used to portray Trenwith House in the 2015 BBC TV adaptation of Poldark.
It’s a bit difficult to compare the book and its characters to its TV adaptation, as we all carry our own understanding of how certain characters should look and act. Also, we can read a book at our leisure, and TV has to move at a pace that suits the format and doesn’t drag, so some characters or side plots may have to be shortened. That being said, yes there are differences from the book, but not so big as to ruin the overall enjoyment and entertainment value.
The 80s music is fantastic, although I find the opening high-pitched opera music annoying, which doesn’t really fit in. As for all the sex scenes, yes, we can do without them since we all have imaginations, but this is not the book Cooper wrote. It was great to get to know Jilly Cooper in the lunch scene at the restaurant.
The last episode ended very differently than the book, so I hope there’s at least one more season to see what happens with Taggie and RCB. . .

It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a TV documentary journalist whose work is built on exposing the wrongdoings of long-respected institutions. The exceptionally talented Russian blue cat in the Ravenscroft household improvises all of her action and dialogue. In several episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium-length telephoto.
Such a lens would not be able to focus on close-up subjects, such as selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine… I don’t know if Alfonso has an enemy on IMDB, which explains the brutal and unfair 1-star ratings, but they are completely out of line. .At first, it doesn’t seem like an outright mystery, more like a tragic drama.
But you start to get the feeling that there is more to the story than the seemingly obvious good versus bad characters. With each episode, it gets darker and more complex. To the point where I felt like I had to come back here to change my original review and add stars.
A small detail, but this may be the first show I’ve ever seen that actually depicts a real bond between a cat and a human. How a cat is always there for you. Curious, mischievous, funny and gentle.
I really appreciate a movie that doesn’t portray the cat as an alienated or even a dark presence. The gray cat in this movie has more charm than all the people combined and steals every scene he’s in. The show is great and I’m all for it!
