Story
Follows a group of friends who travel to a remote campsite to film a documentary. They find something much scarier than they could have imagined. When Gary first appears, blood is dripping from his left ear, but in later scenes it only drips from his right and there is no trace of blood around the left..
It was definitely a nod to tropes often seen in 1980s and 1990s horror movies
The plot of The Gatekeeper, written by Joe Davison and Luke Genton, was actually a fairly straight-forward script and plot that felt like something you would see in a 1980s horror movie. And I have to admit, I liked it because it was a nice touch to the film. In the film, even the classic traveler was looking for a lost sibling, complete with a missing person flyer and all.

I can’t say I’m impressed that someone like Randy Couture is on the cast and yet plays such a major role, as I’ve never liked him or his acting skills. There were some familiar faces on the cast, like Mike Manning and Bonnie Aarons. I will say that the actors and actresses generally gave good performances throughout the film.
My rating for “The Bellwether” is four stars out of ten
“The Bellwether” is the type of horror movie that you watch once, then put in your bin and mark it so you never bring it up again. While it was a watchable enough movie, it was by no means a terrible horror movie. And I think that was mostly because of the lackluster killer that Hank’s character (played by Randy Couture) was.
