After years apart, the star-crossed lovers find that every path they take leads them back together
Story
Local rebellious teenager Klotter falls in love with his classmate Jackie, but gang violence leads him down a darker, more destructive path. Malik Fricka, who plays 17-year-old Clotter in this film, was a world champion breakdancer at the age of 10. One of the characters wears a Rolex Daytona Ceramic in the 1990s, but the watch wasn’t released until 2016.

I was so excited to see this film, directed by Gilles Lellouch and starring Adele Exarchopoulos and Francois Civil, who I really admire. It has all the makings of a French Boxbuster, but they lacked it. The first part is too long to set the scene for their young lives and love.
Because I think that even though it was too long, it was good
After a while, we wondered if we had gone to the wrong screening room. Also, we’re starting to feel disappointed that we haven’t seen Adele and Francois in hours. If this first long part was meant to be, the film should have been in 2 parts.
I thought the script adaptation was quite weak
The second part of their adult life is not believable in many ways and not exciting enough. I also didn’t feel any connection to this love story of reunion. As for the ending, it was too easy.
It’s a shame because I think we missed the opportunity to see a great film here
Well done to Mallory Waneke as Jackie and Malik Fricka as Clotter Young, who give great performances.
